The hawkeye channel practice management team combines many years of hands-on experience in all facets of channel management - from channel strategy and program development to technology infrastructure. Our global channel experience combined with a nimble organizational structure, enables us to respond quickly to tailor the right solution for your channel requirements, working closely with your management team.


Shari Marion-Hoff

CEO and Chief Channel Strategist
Shari is responsible for the overall performance of hawkeye’s channel practice team, with a specific emphasis on working with internal and external clients to develop and fine-tune channel strategy and partner programs, as well as new business development with existing clients and new prospects. Recent hawkeye channel practice initiatives include the development and launch of the PartnerConduit Network (PCN) that provides channel partners the opportunity to collaborate in a multi-vendor environment.

Prior to joining hawkeye’s channel practice, Shari was Executive Vice President of LaserDirect, Inc., and she has more than 25 years of technology experience, from high-tech startups to managing Fortune 500 accounts as an agency/supplier.

Dave Hafermann

SVP and Managing Director, Asia Pacific
Dave is responsible for managing hawkeye’s Asia Pacific operations in support of hawkeye’s channel practice.  Blending 20 years of progressive experience in channel marketing, information technology, systems design and operations, Dave is able to distill these disciplines into a cohesive "vision" that enables him to design and deliver best-in-class channel solutions to hawkeye clients.

From 2000-2006, Dave's role involved a variety of executive functions including management of hawkeye’s technology team, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Solutions Architect.  Dave is responsible for the design and development of many of the core services provided by hawkeye’s channel practice today.

In 1996 he co-founded Cohesion, a leading channel marketing agency, and as Executive Vice President of technology, guided the development of its web-driven channel marketing solutions. Previous experience includes VP Operations and CIO of LaserDirect, a database-marketing agency, and marketing systems analyst in Weyerhaeuser’s Diversified Business Division.

Vaughn Aust

VP, Product Management
Vaughn has over 12 years' experience in delivering global channel programs and systems.  With his unique background in various disciplines – including product management, direct marketing, client services, marketing research and information technology – Vaughn is able to adopt a customer-focused, marketing savvy, holistic approach for all his clients.

Previous to leading hawkeye’s product effort, Vaughn was the Managing Director for hawkeye Europe where he successfully expanded the European client base, multiplied revenue 2.5 times during tenure and established a dual source office in Lodz, Poland.

Vaughn excels in client need analysis, agile software development, business process automation, solution architecture and product portfolio management.  He has led teams on global programs for a number of clients including Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, BEA Web Logic, Computer Associates, Iomega, Juniper and Intel.

William Gilsing

VP, Global Channel Strategies
William heads the hawkeye strategy team in channel strategy and channel program development efforts for its clients. He has 15 years' experience working with technology clients on partner strategies and tactics that increase indirect sales and deliver maximum ROI on channel spend. His experience includes strategic engagements with Microsoft, Seagate, Philips, Adobe and TI.

Prior to his consulting career William held middle and senior management positions in marketing, product marketing, and merchandising with Egghead, The Sharper Image, Duty Free Shoppers, and The GAP.

Steve Murphy

VP, e-Collaboration Services
Steve has worked with technology channel marketing program design and management since the time he helped IBM launch IBM ProPlan in 1986.

He has worked with Carlson Marketing, and independently, prior to joining hawkeye as VP, e-Collaboration Services.  After working with leading companies including HP, Microsoft, Citrix Systems, Cisco, AMD, Sun Microsystems, Oracle and Apple on both distribution and developer channel marketing challenges, Steve is now working on a new market offering enabling greater partner-to-partner collaboration in a multi-vendor environment.

Throughout his tenure, Steve has helped clients to concept, design, develop, deliver and measure innovative, large-scale channel programs and events.

Michael Frederickson

VP, Information Services
Michael is an accomplished, seasoned leader with in-depth experience in contemporary system architecture and application design. His experience bridges the gap between technical resource management and product development.  His focus places emphasis on critical, strategic solutions and cost-effective management of resources.

Michael has over 20 years of experience with technical organizations, concentrating most recently in storage management, communications, messaging and wireless applications.  He is a thought leader in applications, software design and social engineering.

His most recent experience was as VP of Development for AttachStor, a software startup engaged in developing revolutionary efficiencies for attachment management for Microsoft Exchange.  Prior to that, he was the Director of Program Management at Captaris (Nasdaq:CAPA), a leading enterprise fax and unified messaging company.

Deb Broderson

VP, Group Account Director
Deb has been with hawkeye for over five years and has more than 20 years experience in the technology industry, and 10 years experience in high-tech channel marketing.

Before joining hawkeye, Deb worked in both marketing and channel operations developing and executing global, multi-channel go-to-market strategies for leading technology manufacturers. She was previously with Siemens Information and Communications, Remedy/Peregrine and Phoenix Technologies. While at Phoenix Technologies, Deb was honored by CRN as 25th of the Top 50 Channel Chiefs in North America.

Karen Strub

VP, Group Account Director
Karen is a hands-on, senior marketing professional with experience in cultivating new business, designing effective marketing strategies and managing high performing, results-oriented account teams.  Adept at client-side marketing strategy and operations, Karen has worked on the agency-side in her role at hawkeye since 1996, serving as VP Client Services and Global Account Director for her multi-national, high-tech clients.

Karen’s passion for her clients and her account team is evident in her client engagement and in the vision that she sets for her account team.   Karen’s favorite book is, "A Short Guide to a Happy Life," by Anna Quindlen.

Martin Riley

VP, e-Collaboration Platforms
Although he started programming at age 14 on his TI-99/4A, Martin has been formally involved with IT and software development for almost 20 years. During this time, he has served numerous organizations and has assumed various roles from software engineering and architecture to consulting and even training.

As a trainer, he authored and delivered high-end development courses to government and private sector clients throughout North America, and as a software architect / consultant, he helped many of these organizations identify, design and implement IT solutions tailored to their needs.

In the beginning of his career, Martin also served as a Combat Systems Engineering Officer in the Canadian Navy, where he honed his leadership and management skills. In January 2005, Martin moved from Nova Scotia, Canada to join Hawkeye’s channel practice in Seattle where he has designed and led the development efforts behind many large programs for Microsoft and other accounts. Martin currently heads up the development efforts behind Hawkeye’s PartnerConduit Network , an e-collaboration platform for partners across the many vendor ecosystems.

Martin is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada where he obtained his Bachelor of Engineering Physics and Electrical Engineering. He also holds a Masters of Physics from Dalhousie University.

David Stearns

Group Account Director
David is responsible for hawkeye’s relationship with Hewlett-Packard and Juniper Networks, and manages hawkeye’s Boise, Idaho office. He has over 20 years' experience in marketing strategy, communications, and indirect channel marketing and has held various marketing positions for a variety of start-up technology companies including Attachmate, Asymetrix, and RealNetworks.

Ian Hutchieson

Managing Director, UK
Ian has over 15 years direct and loyalty marketing experience developing effective partner relationship strategies and innovative marketing programs—uniting manufacturers, resellers and customers. For the past 9 years, he has focused his efforts in the IT channel space working with companies in Europe and US including 3Com, Cisco, Iomega, Trend Micro, Veritas, Symantec and Business Objects.

Ian joined hawkeye in October 2006 as VP Client Services responsible for teams delivering EMEA channel programs and in-region deployment of global engagements that encompass research, program design, points-based solutions, marketing communications, enablement, MDF and incentives.

Ian was appointed Managing Director UK in September 2008. Prior to joining hawkeye, Ian was the UK GM for a leading global loyalty marketing agency working with hotel groups, airlines and IT companies on loyalty and CRM strategy and programs.
